Event Override

It is possible to override DBAmon default behavior on a per-event basis. For example, the default behavior of a critical event is to always invoke the make_ticket routine, page (if Pager_EMail is configured and send email (if a Notify_List: is configured).

With the Event Override transaction, you can override this default behavior. For example, the DBA511 Event which occurs when the Backup_Age: threshold is exceeded is a critical event if the backup restart was not successful. You can override the behavior for this message by specifying DBA511 in the MSGID column. You would then select one of the override actions, for example 'Pager Message' could be set to no which would prevent pages for this event.
