You will need to choose the UX userid that DBAmon will use.
Some considerations:
You will have to establish either .rhosts
or SSH connectivity to allow DBAmon
running on the DBamon Master Server to connect to this DB on this
server without specifying a password. SSH connectivity was first
introduced with DBAmon Version 3.23F (08/00). SSH is used in a higher
security environment, such as going through a network firewall.
In this case the .rhosts on pluto (~oracle/.rhosts) would need to look like:
catdog.company.com dbamonEnsure that it is working. On catdog, run
remsh pluto -l oracle ls
DBAmon downloads software to every DB Server that it monitors. It is
place in /tmp, so ensure that /tmp has at least, say, 1MB of free
space.
Perl, at least version 5, must be installed and there must be a symbolic
link called
/usr/local/bin/perl which invokes Perl version 5 or higher.
Informix Version 5
If you will be monitoring Informix Version 5, you need to create a link called onstat to the tbstat execuable.(As user informix) cd $INFORMIXDIR/bin ln tbstat onstat
